Fatih İşbecer, one of the first generation internet entrepreneurs in Turkey, started his first venture in 1997. In 2000, he founded his second venture Pozitron, at age 24, which went on to lay foundations for Turkey’s mobile banking, mobile commerce and payments ecosystem. In a short period of time, Pozitron became Turkey’s fastest-growing mobile technology company exporting software to 11 countries globally, mainly to the US and Europe.
In February 2014, Pozitron was acquired by Monitise plc, a London-based tech company, making it one of the largest mobile software company acquisitions in Europe. At Monitise, Fatih acted as the President of Monitise Americas and moved to San Francisco to run the North and South America operations.
In 2017, Monitise plc was acquired by Fiserv, a US-based Fortune 500 company.
After this acquisition, Fatih İşbecer left Fiserv to establish a global brand in digital technologies and founded Commencis, where he is the Chairman.
Isbecer is an active, seed-stage investor, and a member of Galata Business Angels, Turkey’s first angel investor group. He is a graduate of Galatasaray High School and holds a Physics Engineering degree from Istanbul Technical University. He shares his entrepreneurial experiences and vision on technology in various organizations such as MIT Sloan School, Stanford GSB and TEDx.
